Free Mammograms and Pap Tests Offered to Area Women in Need
Mercy Medical Center, 701 10th Street SE, will provide free breast and cervical cancer screenings to eastern Iowa women in need as part of a community-wide health care initiative this month.
Mercy is partnering with RCI Imaging, St. Luke’s Hospital and Planned Parenthood to provide the free services at:
- Planned Parenthood—Wednesday, August 15 (pap tests only)
- St. Luke’s Breast & Bone Health—Thursday, August 16 (mammograms & pap tests)
- Mercy Women’s Center—Friday, August 17 (mammograms & pap tests)
- RCI Imaging Center —Saturday, August 18 (mammograms only)
The free mammograms are available to women age 40 and older with no medial insurance. Funds from the Especially for You® Women’s Race Against Breast Cancer cover the cost of the service. The free cervical cancer screenings are provided to uninsured women of all ages.
The event is co-sponsored by Community Health Free Clinic, The Iowa Breast & Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program and Especially for You®.
