MercyCare Community Physicians Opens New Internal Medicine Clinic
MercyCare Community Physicians (MCCP), a network of more than 70 health-care providers in Cedar Rapids and surrounding communities, will host an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new internal medicine clinic, Internist Associates of Iowa, on Thursday February 8, 2007, from 3:30-7 p.m. The ribbon-cutting will take place at 4:30 p.m. The clinic, located at 543 7th Street SE, will officially open for patient appointments on Monday, February 12. Refreshments will be served and guests will have a chance to tour the new facility.
Those attending the open house will have the opportunity to meet the clinic’s health care providers, Frederick M. Frank, D.O., Charles J. Pruchno, M.D., F.A.C.P., Trisha L. Sheeley, M.D., Melanie K. Stahlberg, M.D., and Fadi Y. Yacoub, M.D. Each of the physicians is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. In addition, Dr. Frank is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Pruchno and Dr. Yacoub are certified by the American Board of Nephrology. The physician group joined MCCP on July 1, 2006 and have been located in the Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa facility.
The new 15,000 square-feet internal medicine facility includes twenty-four examination rooms, with spacious on-site laboratory and digital x-ray services. In the near future, diagnostic services will be available.
The clinic offers a unique design and comforting environment to improve the quality of the patient’s experience and patient confidentiality. This is accomplished by the patient care team concept, which increases efficiency and the amount of time providers and staff spend with patients. Wide hallways also maximize handicap accessibility and patient flow, and the facility incorporates soothing colors and soft, indirect lighting.
