Mercy Names New Foundation President
Mercy Medical Center , 701 10th St. SE , is pleased to announce Susannah L. Hawn has been appointed president of the Mercy Medical Center Foundation (effective August 13). Hawn succeeds Cathy Gullickson, who stepped down from the position in June.
Hawn previously served for nine years as the director of Planned Giving at the Kirkwood Community College Foundation in Cedar Rapids. She was responsible for administration, coordination and expansion of comprehensive planned and endowed giving programs for the Foundation. Prior to serving in that capacity, Hawn was a planned giving associate at Kirkwood and also served as director of development at KCCK-FM at Kirkwood.
Hawn has served with numerous professional and community organizations, including the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Eastern Iowa Planned Giving Council, National Committee on Planned Giving, Cedar Rapids Area Estate Planning Council, Daybreak Rotary, Indian Creek Nature Center , Catherine McAuley Center and Leave A Legacy Iowa.
She was a Waypoint Tribute to Women of Achievement honoree and a recipient of the Samuel J. Kirkwood Society Legacy Award.
Hawn obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa .
