Mercy Medical Center Asks…Are You Tough Enough to Wear Pink?
Mercy Medical Center is proud to participate in the Tough Enough to Wear Pink ® campaign to raise money to support the fight against breast cancer. During the Saturday, Feb. 9, performance of The Bulls and Broncs Championship Outlaws of Rodeo ProRodeo event, cowboys and cowgirls dressed in pink will saddle up for Pink Night. The event begins at 7:30 p.m. at the U.S. Cellular Center.
The Tough Enough to Wear Pink ® campaign is an awareness and fundraising program dedicated to providing local funding for breast cancer awareness, education, mammograms, support, and diagnosis. The color pink is not something ordinarily associated with the tough sport of rodeo, but breast cancer touches tens of thousands of families in all sectors of life. The disease knows no boundaries. Last year breast cancer claimed the lives of 40,000 Americans.
As the title sponsor of the event, Mercy Medical Center invites the public to saddle up and put on their pink for this family night at the rodeo. Sponsorship money collected for Tough Enough to Wear Pink ® night will be used by the Mercy Women’s Center and the Especially for You® fund to help provide breast-care services for eastern Iowa women in need.
Pink t-shirts will also be sold during Pink Night with a percentage of sales going to the Especially for You® fund .
Mercy’s involvement with this special Pink Night rodeo event is another way of extending the Mercy Touch® to the community we serve.
