Receive Health Reminders via Text

Person holding cell phoneAs the importance of technology and convenience grows, MercyCare is proud to offer a new way for patients to stay on top of their health care: text alerts.

MyChart users can now set up text alerts for appointments, test results and more. Learn more about MyChart.

The appointment reminders can be utilized for any clinic or scheduled hospital service. Patients can set their preferences for the reminders they would like to receive via text (email is also still available) and can opt out at any time.

To set up text alerts:

  1. Log in to MyChart and go to the Preferences tab, then choose Notifications tab.
  2. Update your contact information if needed.
  3. Check the box under “text” for the notifications you want to receive (see image). You can uncheck any that you no longer want to receive via email.

  4. Select the timeframe for your reminders. We recommend selecting 1 or 2 days to allow for enough time to reschedule if needed.

We are excited to offer this convenient tool to our patients as part of our commitment to quality, patient-centered care. If you have questions, check out the FAQ link at www.mychart.mercycare.org.
