In recent weeks, you may have seen news coverage around the current status of CoOportunity. On January 23, 2015, the Iowa Insurance Commissioner determined rehabilitation was not possible for CoOportunity Health and will ask the court for an order of liquidation. These problems arose from the company’s inability to obtain additional resources from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and extremely high healthcare utilization.
