New Work Injury Rehabilitation Center opens at Mercy Health Plaza
Mercy Medical Center announces the opening of its new Work Injury Rehab Center , located within the Mercy Health Plaza , 5264 Council St. NE. Services such as work conditioning are offered at the new center to help employees return to work as soon as possible following an injury or surgery, while minimizing the risk for re-injury on the job.
Mercy's Work Injury Rehab Center will partner with local employers to create programs to reduce injury rates, as well as educate employees on the risk factors that may lead to injury. Services are designed to assist employers and employees with performing job duties safely, and encourage them to return to work with the skills and information they need to avoid further injuries. Occupational and physical therapists will offer the following services:
- Functional Capacity Evaluations
- Pre-Work Screening
- Work Conditioning/Hardening
- On-Site Ergonomic Evaluations and Services
- Preventative Education: Spine and Upper and Lower Body
- Employer/Employee Consultations
The center utilizes equipment such as the Total Gym, SCI-FIT Ergometer, Paramount MP4.0 multi-gym, and Vision Fitness treadmill. Various other equipment is designed to simulate and evaluate job situations and to challenge core strength to improve whole body posturing and strength in work activities.
