Marion health care provider named Iowa Physician Assistant of the Year
Nancy Morris, certified physician assistant at MercyCare Marion, received the honor of Iowa Physician Assistant of the Year at the Iowa Physician Assistant Society Annual Conference in Coralville on Tues., Sept. 21. Morris was honored for her commitment to her patients, the community and the physician assistant profession.
In addition to practicing at MercyCare Marion, Morris serves on the Board and cares for patients at His Hands Free Medical Clinic, which provides care to those in the Cedar Rapids community without medical insurance. She has also served on the Iowa Physician Assistant Society Legislative subcommittee for more than 25 years. Her colleague, Ed Freidman, PA-C, who also serves on the subcommittee and has served as president of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Iowa Physician Assistant Society, nominated Morris for this award.
Morris has been part of MercyCare Community Physicians since 1995. She has provided care at MercyCare Main Campus, and since 2008 at MercyCare Marion, 3701 Katz Drive. Dr. Sharon Bertroche is her supervising physician.
