MercyCare Occupational Health welcomes new physician

Beginning Sept. 13, Nate Brady, MD, MPH, will begin providing occupational medicine services at MercyCare Occupational Health, located at the Mercy Health Plaza, 5264 Council St. NE. Services provided will include a wide range of specialty medical exams, such as pre-employment and DOT physicals, as well as worker injury treatment and prevention. In addition, Dr. Brady will oversee corporate wellness initiatives, including preventive screenings, chronic disease management and health education. He will also provide support to Mercy’s Employee Health Center, opening in October 2011.

Dr. Brady received his medical degree from the University of Colorado and completed an internship in family medicine and residency in occupational medicine at the University of Iowa. Most recently, he served as the Medical Director for Wellness with Iowa Health System in Des Moines.

Dr. Brady is certified by the American Board of Preventive Medicine, American Board of Independent Medical Examiners and as a Medical Review Officer. He is a member of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, the American Diabetes Association and the American Society of Bariatric Physicians.

Dr. Brady will be influential in the delivery and coordination of Mercy’s corporate health initiatives, providing employers with innovative health offerings, ultimately lowering their healthcare costs and creating healthier workplaces.

MercyCare Occupational Health is part of MercyCare Community Physicians (MCCP).  MCCP is composed of thirteen family practice clinics in the Cedar Rapids metro area, as well as Center Point, Monticello, Mount Vernon, North Liberty and Tama.  Two urgent care facilities and four specialty clinics are also part of the MCCP system.  Established in 1995, MCCP is affiliated with Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids.
