Mercy Flowers and Gifts
Profits from the Gift Shop are donated to Mercy Medical Center through the Auxiliary. The Gift Shop offers a wide variety of merchandise including:
- Fresh and silk flower arrangements
- Gifts and toys for people of all ages
- Cards and paper goods for all occasions
- Candy to satisfy the sweet tooth
- Craft items made by Mercy's own Silks & Crafts Department
Coffee Cart
The Auxiliary has a new Coffee Cart located in the Lundy Pavilion. Uncommon Grounds is open for business Monday through Friday from 7 to 11:00 a.m. Check us out and enjoy a flavored coffee or latte. Special iced drinks are featured during the summer months. Punch cards for $10.00 may be purchased in the Mercy Flowers and Gift Shop and make a nice gift. All proceeds benefit the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
Bridge Marathon
The Mercy Bridge Marathon begins in October and continues through April. Winners are announced at a May luncheon held following final competition. The Auxiliary's summer bridge group plays from May to September.
Infant Photo
Colored photographs of infants born at the Mercy Birthplace are taken by nurses and may be purchased by the parents. Proceeds are applied to the Auxiliary's current commitments of funds to Mercy.
Art Exhibits
Artists in the Cedar Rapids area are invited to display their paintings in the lobby and hallway of Mercy Medical Center. These works can be purchased by the public through the Volunteer Office and proceeds benefit the Mercy Auxiliary.
Heartlights
Each year this Christmastime project raises funds for a designated special project. For a $5 or $10 donation, patrons may honor or memorialize a specific individual. Each recipient is represented by a heart on an evergreen tree in the lobby and also with a light on the large evergreen outside the Tenth street entrance. A tree lighting ceremony is held in early December.
Cedar Rapids On Board
Cedar Rapids On Board is an extremely exciting, one-of-a-kind fundraising program based on the famous “opoly” style real estate trading game. The game itself is customized specifically for Cedar Rapids and showcases the businesses and attractions that make it so special. All proceeds benefit The Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. The Mercy Auxiliary has set a goal to sell 3,500 games at $24.99 apiece. For more information about this project, or to order a game, call 319-398-6631.
