Mercy Auxiliary Caring Through Service
Service Projects
Pediatric Orientation
This program familiarizes area kindergarten and first grade children with the hospital and shows them what services Mercy provides to the community.
Scholarship
Each year, Mercy Auxiliary awards a scholarship in partnership with its sister institution, Mount Mercy College. Applicants must be full time students in their sophomore or junior year with a major in a health-related field.
Children's Art Wall
Area schools and youth organizations are invited to display their artwork in the hallway of Mercy's first floor, between the Tenth Street Lobby and the J. Edward Lundy Pavilion.
Angel Tree
Paper angels are placed on a Christmas tree for the Auxiliary's service project, the "Angel Tree." Written on each angel is a gift suggestion or request for a needy adult or child. Angel Tree visitors choose an angel, purchase the gift and bring the gift to the Auxiliary for distribution to the needy.
Daffodil Days
The American Cancer Society's bright symbol of hope is the daffodil and shows the hope that exists because of advances in the fight against cancer. Each year Mercy Medical Center purchases daffodils which are assembled and delivered to Mercy patients and offices by the Auxiliary.
