Sedlacek Treatment Center
Intensive Outpatient Program

The Sedlacek Treatment Center’s Intensive Outpatient Program is designed for those individuals whose chemical dependency may be appropriately treated in an outpatient setting. Admission to the
program is determined on an individual basis following an assessment. Individual circumstances are always considered in treatment planning.

Intensive outpatient care allows the patient to continue with employment, school, or home responsibilities while receiving treatment. Patients are expected to commit their primary effort to treatment in addition to employment and family responsibilities.

The program.
This highly structured 4 week (16 session) program is designed to maximize recovery through the use of individual, group and family therapy. Full participation is expected and critical to successful completion of the program. Therapy sessions are generally offered mid-afternoons and evenings.

A wellness model of recovery is used to assist the patient in lifestyle changes. Involvement in self-help groups such as AA or NA is encouraged during the Intensive Outpatient Program.

Family members are encouraged to become involved in the treatment process through participation in family therapy sessions. These sessions help the family understand co-dependency, gain a sense of support, and identify ways to encourage the patient in treatment. There is no cost for the family program.

At the completion of the Intensive Outpatient Program, patients are usually stepped down to the Extended Outpatient Program.

A substance abuse assessment prior to admission may be arranged by calling 398-6226, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Following outpatient therapy we recommend that patients participate in aftercare groups at the Sedlacek Treatment Center for up to one year. Aftercare is provided at no charge to the patient for that year.
