Mercy is home to the newest NICU in the area providing the most cutting-edge model for the 21st Century.

While Mercy's NICU has been open since 1996 and has cared for 1,700 babies, we're remodeling to provide you with the best and most innovative care possible. Our new NICU is one of only a few of its kind in the U.S., Mercy Medical Center 's NICU is setting a new standard for care.

Our suites provide over 400 feet of space for you and baby (or babies, if you have twins!) and feature many special amenities that come standard in all our suites (and not just for show) to make you feel comfortable and secure, as if you were home suite home.

We're talking:

  • The biggest NICU suites in the area for you and baby.
  • Private, spacious bathrooms with whirlpool tubs in each suite-no sharing here.
  • Beautiful, soft blankets for you to snuggle in.
  • Karen Neuburger gowns that allow you to intimately tuck baby in close to enhance bonding.
  • Space for family to visit and feel comfortable when baby is ready.
  • Windows for when you feel like letting in some sunshine.

But it's more than just the nice touches (although they are pretty sweet)-it supports our philosophy of family-centered care-encouraging you to spend as much time as possible bonding with your new baby-that is truly different from anything else you'll find in the area.

A team approach. Mercy's NICU uses a multidisciplinary team approach to caring for your baby. Above all else, you and your baby are the MOST important part of our team. Having the right people in place to provide special attention for your baby makes all the difference. After all, your baby deserves the best care.
A family-centered design. Each NICU suite is private and specially-equipped for your baby's needs (we've thought of you in our design as well).
