Mercy Children’s Services Has the "Mercy Touch"

For children, going to the hospital can be frightening. Families can rest assured that Mercy Children’s Services goes the extra mile for young patients, making sure they are well cared for and comfortable. It’s what we call “The Me rcy Touch.”

Our philosophy focuses on family-centered care. We care for children ages 17 and under. Once your child is here, we stress continuity of care. If your child is transferred to a different room, the nurse who has been tending him or her will continue to provide care. We provide age-appropriate video games, movies and books to help your child relax, rest and recuperate.

Our specially trained nurses know children and their needs, and they will carefully monitor your child’s condition. A pediatric clinical nurse specialist assists the nurses to coordinate services for patients and their families.

Together we can help your child be comfortable during his or her hospital stay.

We invite you to explore our Web site and discover the comprehensive level of services and programs available to your family:

  • PICU. Mercy’s P.I.C.U. provides family centered care, supporting the family as the child’s care provider.
  • Bearly  Sick. Sick child on a work day? Call us!
  • Child Seat Safety Check. The Child Safety Seat Fit Station program provides free child safety-seat checks.
  • Center for Fit Families. A clinic specially designed for children and families struggling with weight management and obesity.
