Wendy Sanders, ARNP

Wendy, a nurse practitioner, specializes in diabetes care throughout the lifespan. She treats patients with Type 1, Type 2 and gestational diabetes, and also provides insulin pump initiation and management. Work with Wendy to determine a comprehensive care plan designed to help you reach your diabetes goals.

Endocrinology

Endocrinologists diagnose and treat conditions affecting the glands of the endocrine system, including the thyroid, the pituitary, and glands located in the pancreas, ovaries and testes. Hormones from these glands regulate appetite, metabolism and energy stability, all of which affect whether a person is considered obese. Medical conditions associated with obesity include insulin resistance, reproductive issues, metabolic syndrome and genetic problems.

Who should see an Endocrinologist?

You may be a candidate to see Dr. Arun Movva, Cedar Rapids’ first endocrinologist, if you experience conditions such as:

  • Uncontrolled Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes
  • Thyroid conditions (including nodule biopsies)
  • Parathyroid diseases
  • High blood pressure
  • High cholesterol
