Diabetes

Are you at risk?

Many people ignore the common signs of diabetes, attributing them to normal signs of aging. The following are common signs of diabetes. Take this test to determine whether you have, or are at risk, for diabetes:

  1. Does your weight exceed recommended limits?
  2. Do you exercise very little or not at all?
  3. Does someone in your immediate family have diabetes?
  4. Are you of Hispanic, African-American, or Native Indian heritage?
  5. Do you find yourself running to the bathroom more often than usual?
  6. Do you sometimes feel as if you can’t get enough to drink?
  7. Do you often feel hungry even when you eat regular meals?
  8. Are you losing weight without dieting?
  9. Are you unusually irritable, tired or fatigued?
  10. Have you noticed any changes, or blurring, in your vision?
  11. Do your hands or feet ever tingle or feel numb?
  12. Are cuts and scrapes slow in healing?
  13. Do you get frequent infections, like bladder or yeast infections?
  14. Is your skin noticeably dry and itchy?
