Mercy Employee Health Center

The Mercy Employee Health Center (EHC) is an on-site health center for employees (and their spouses and dependents) of Mercy Medical Center and Mercy Physician Services. The Center opened in October 2011 as an innovative and unique employee benefit and one more extension of The Mercy Touch® to employees.

The center’s goal is to enhance the healthcare of you and your family through convenient access to quality, coordinated care provided through MercyCare Community Physicians.

Convenience with Same-Day Appointments and Easy Access

Employee Health Center LobbyThe center offers the convenience of high-quality, coordinated medical care right across the street from Mercy Medical Center at the 8th & 8th Medical Office Building.

Same-day care for illness or acute needs is available when you contact the center by 10 a.m. to make an appointment. You may call later in the day for appointments, scheduled as available.

Because the Employee Health Center’s healthcare providers understand they are providing care to healthcare employees, the appointment calendar will be blocked off during premium time slots – such as first thing in the morning, over lunch and primary shift changes – to accommodate your schedule.

Employees can schedule an appointment in one of three ways: 1) by calling (319) 398-6342, 2) through your MyChart electronic health record, or 3) in person at the center.

Medical Home Model of Care

Employee Health Center Care SuiteWhile the Employee Health Center is not intended to replace your primary provider, if you do not have one you may rely on the center as your medical home. Establishing a medical home for healthcare is increasingly important for preventive care and coordinating the management of chronic conditions, such as diabetes, depression or heart disease.

We Care About Your Health

Employee Health Center Care SuiteMercy Medical Center and Mercy Physician Services care about the health of their employees. We are proud to lead the way in providing this service to our employees and their families.

What is a Health Coach?

Because you work at Mercy, you know all about high-quality care, and that same commitment to quality will extend to the Employee Health Center – complete with a health coach who takes a proactive approach to managing your healthcare. Health coaches will conduct pre-visit chart reviews and work one-on-one with individuals to find new ways to inspire healthier habits, promote prevention and wellness, and reach their health goals.
