Active Metabolic Training (AMT)

Maximize your workout with Mercy Fitness Center’s Active Metabolic Training™5 or 10-week Exercise Program. This Program includes:

  • Pre and post Fitness Assessment
  • Metabolic Testing
  • Educational session on metabolic training and nutrition
  • Five days/week of mid to high intensity cardio exercise and strength training

March 19th - May 25th

June 4th - July 6th (5 week session)

July 16th - August 17th (5 week session)

What is it?

Active Metabolic Training (AMT) is a new structured exercise program designed to motivate, guide, and educate you on proper exercise and nutrition. The classes are mid to high intensity workouts. All classes are taught by professionally trained staff with college degrees in exercise science or health promotion. The class is based off of scientific research to achieve optimal results.

Is assessment required and what is involved?

Yes, we will do a pre-assessment and post-assessment that includes height, weight, blood pressure, body fat, circumference measurements, sit-ups, push-ups, resting metabolic test, and an exercise metabolic test. We also will do a before picture. Please wear spandex shorts and a sports bra to your appointment for females. Males should also wear shorts.

What if I have already done a metabolic assessment?

You will only have to do the post-metabolic assessment. We will still do the other pre-tests.

When do I do my assessment?

We would like you to complete your assessment prior to the start of the program. Please plan ahead. Call 221-8877 to schedule your individual time with a Health/Fitness Coordinator. Please allow 2 hours for your assessment.

Do I have to have a heart rate monitor to take the class?

No. However, we highly encourage the use of a heart rate monitor to help you work out smarter.

Do I need to be a member of the Mercy Fitness Center to participate in this class?

No, you do not need to be a member. This class is open to the public.

Is a fitness membership included in the price of the class?

Membership to Mercy Fitness Center is included in the price.

What is the structure of workouts?

Classes are held Monday through Friday.

MWF are mid to high intensity cardiovascular workouts guided by a certified instructor utilizing steps, bosu, and your body weight.

TTH are mid to high intensity weight training sessions utilizing body bars, bands and dumbbells.

What times are the classes offered?

Class times are: 5:30 - 6:15 a.m.

5:30 - 6:15 p.m.

What if I miss a session?

You are highly encouraged to make as many sessions as you can, however, if business takes you away, we have on the go workouts for you so you don’t miss a session.

How much does it cost?

The cost of the program is $199 (5 week session) or $399 (10 week session).

If you already have a metabolic test under your belt, $349
