Cardiovascular Conditions

Our cardiovascular system is made up of our whole system of blood vessels – or circulatory system - working in conjunction with the beating heart.

Cardiovascular (heart and circulatory) diseases are diseases of the heart and blood vessel system such as coronary heart disease, heart attack, high blood pressure, peripheral vascular disease and stroke.  All of these tie into our circulatory system, as well.

With each beat, the heart pumps blood into the vessels and throughout the body, providing nutrients and oxygen to cells. The circulating blood removes waste products, toxins and other harmful substances. Our circulatory system is critical to many body functions, as is the function of our heart.
