Mercy’s Outpatient Rehabilitation Program

Mercy’s Outpatient Rehabilitation Program is a team approach to treating patients with neurological symptoms or outcomes requiring rehabilitation services. Our goal at Mercy is to enable each client to reach his or her maximum level of function through rehabilitation.

The evaluation and treatment Mercy offers emphasize education and training by providing appropriate services to manage our patients’ functional and psychosocial needs, as well as appropriate medical services.

Mercy on-site services include Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Rehabilitation Nursing, Neuro-Psychology, and Social Services. Other services required, such as vocational rehabilitation and job placement, are arranged through outside agencies and services.

Mercy’s program provides services for a variety of diagnoses. The majority of Mercy’s patients’ diagnoses are related to stroke, but we also treat people with brain injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease and general weakness.

Each patient may need only one kind of therapy, or a combination of the on-site services listed above, depending on his or her individual needs.

Patients must have a physician referral for our program.

For more information about Mercy’s program, don’t hesitate to call 319-398-6020 and ask to speak to our Rehabilitation Nurse Coordinator.
