Sedlacek Treatment Center
for Substance Abuse
Chemical dependency is a progressive illness that will only get worse if left untreated. Seeking help means the beginning of recovery, and recovery can mean a new and healthy lifestyle.
For more than 35 years, Mercy Medical Center's Sedlacek Treatment Center has served adolescents and adults within the community with alcohol and/or drug problems. No one has more experience or compassion than our staff at Sedlacek.
At the Sedlacek Treatment Center, those fighting addiction can expect:
- The highest level of confidentiality
- Small group sizes
- Free family involvement
Sedlacek Treatment Center is licensed by the Iowa Department of Public Health, Division of Substance Abuse and is accredited by the Joint Commission.

At Sedlacek, we believe that having family involvement during treatment is extremely beneficial to all. We offer a family group weekly at no cost to provide this support. The family groups are held on Thursdays from 11 to 11:50 a.m. and 4:30 to 5:20 p.m. Family members are also able to participate in the self-esteem session (10 to 10:50 a.m. or 3:30 to 4:20 p.m.) and the lecture session (5:30 to 6:20 p.m.) for both adolescents and adults.
