Whether you're a busy professional, a student, or a parent juggling multiple tasks, these quick and easy health hacks can help you feel better, boost your energy, and set you on a path to a healthier lifestyle. We’ve compiled a list of quick health hacks from our team!
- If the food you want to eat would NOT fall apart under running water; eat it! If it would fall apart, it’s likely ultra processed and not as healthy for you.
- Carry a water bottle with you wherever you go. Especially in the car.
- Keep your shoes in your car. You never know when you’ll have five to 10 minutes to get in a walk and you’ll want good shoes to move in.
- Remind yourself there is more than one way to do things. Getting caught up in the “perfect way” can be debilitating. So, remembering there can be more than one solution helps break through perfectionism.
- The Broccoli Test – “Am I so hungry right now that I would eat raw broccoli?” If yes, go eat. If no, find something else to do.
- Have healthy and portable snacks on hand at your desk, in the car and so on. Some of our favorite go-tos are nuts, meat sticks and dried fruit.
- Freeze your leftovers for future, portioned-out meals!
- Cut and wash your fruits and veggies right away. The sooner they're prepped, the sooner they will get eaten and less likely to go bad in the back of your fridge.
- Meal plan and prep. It saves you time and energy later in the week when time is tight and poor choices might be the only choice at hand.
- “The best morning routine starts at night.” Setting yourself up for a successful morning starts with things like setting your clothes out, packing your lunch or setting bags by the door the night before.
- Veggie platters aren’t just for parties; having fresh veggies out where you can snack on them throughout the day/evening keeps you out of the cupboards and helps you get in all your veggies!
