Patient Reviews

Dr Smith was totally ungiving in explanations of the actual surgery, expected results, and potential problems, or rehab Issues. His policy seemed to be "I have completed the surgery and that is my only obligation. He did not present himself for any interaction with the patient what so ever. I am totally confident that Dr Smith is a very competent surgeon, but his "bed side manner" is totally nonexistent.

The Dr explained things in a way that I could understand and asked if I had any other questions. When I asked them he answered them immediately.

Dr Smith did not show me or explain any results of the MRI. Only because I am a nurse did I have some basic understanding of the results. He just announced that he wouldn't get approval for surgery from the insurance company but to come back if things didn't improve. I've lived with this for 2 years since I saw him last. I've come back only to be told he won't help me & he's offered no ideas of what further I can do. I realize the answer is not always surgery but he just totally dismissed me & ushered me out of the clinic room. I couldn't have spent more than 5 minutes with him.

No bedside manner. Was only in room for a couple minutes. Seemed like he was in hurry. Did not allow time for questions

I am sure he is a very good neurosurgeon. When it was recommended that surgery was not needed, I felt like the care stopped there.

Dr Smith was friendly and explained the options. Straight forward and to the point

Smith told me what the MRI indicated, what it didn't signify and what it did signify, and what I could do including if the discomfort increased. Straightforward and unambiguous. Thin on discussion, but clear and to the point.

Very unfriendly. Very little personality. Only choice for Mercy.
July 08, 2021
He basically called me a liar, than rushed me out the door. I got the impression that he didn't care at all about my pain, or what I could do to help it not hurt so bad. As he lead us out of the room, we felt the discussion was going to continue, instead he ran away. Hope to see him never again.

All went very well

Started to walk out while I was talking.

Appeared as though no prior detail of my condition was evaluated prior to qjestions I possed. Actually summary read while and when I sat there. Recommended location of steroid injections was based on that brief review and exam. Hope all goes well.
