I am a recent transplant to the community from a smaller rural community. It was surprisingly difficult to get accepted by a doctor in Cedar Rapids. I had to use the find a doc phone search tool.

I was very disappointed in the care I received from the Doctor. I came away feeling belittled and talked down to. My main concern going in was to get my medication refilled and address another issue I was having with my digestion. Because I didn't have my complete medical records with me, I had to back track and go from memory dates, diagnoses, and medication I was on over a decade ago. The Doctor's responses and almost indifference to my efforts to do this from memory was very discouraging. I will give her credit she did focus on my pain levels and the amount of migraine episodes I was having and offered a neurology referral. However, having already told the nurse earlier my medication being refilled was my main priority. After I summarized that need and even said a few times during our conversation that I ran out of medication during my move to the community, I had to remind her at the end of the appointment that was needed, and her response was "Oh, do I need to do that too." Back tracking a little, part way through the visit, she interrupted the conversation to say she wanted to do a quick check up and I would need to come back for testing because she wasn't going to diagnose anything today. When I said I had one other concern I wanted to bring up, she reiterated that "again she was not making any diagnoses yet today. That my appointment was already an hour long, which wasn't my fault as there was a problem with my check in." I tried describing the digestive concerns I was having, and she was very condescending and dismissive of my concerns. I was very glad when the appointment ended. I walked back into the waiting room not wanting to schedule the follow-up visit and wanting to find a new doctor in the community. That night I read the MyCare account notes, and read several instances where things I had mentioned care I had received in the past, were written as having never been done. This was a very discouraging appointment and I would not recommend this doctor.

Very Helpful

She didn't ask any questions about my past history basically at all and didn't act like she cared to get to know me either. I will not be seeing her again nor would I recommend her to anyone. She was very rude and did not come off kind the second she started talking to me.

I love dr Kaiser. she's awesome! Before her, I switched drs because I didn't feel I was getting a thorough exam. She's exactly what I was looking for. She listens well and makes sure I understand what's going on.

Kim always takes time to listen and to explain things.

Dr. Kaiser knows how to communicate with adolescents. She has their attention the whole time with her pleasant personality and positive demeanor.

She was awful. She treated the visit like an interrogation rather than a conversation. she showed no concern at all for my financial situation when she immediately stated I needed a scope. She refused to even look at the list of medications I had brought with me and strictly referred to the computer, even though I had been out of the area for six years and brought a current list of medications with me. She showed no concern at all for my thoughts about my medication regimen. it was a terrible experience, and I will never return to this provider.

I feel like she wasn't listening to me. The health field scares me. yes my health needs attention but I didn't feel any care or respect. I felt that I wasn't worth her time. she didn't even try to gauge my personality in my opinion. I left there. and when I got in my car, I cried. in my opinion she was cold and treated me like I didn't know anything.
