Dr. Ferroni is well-trained and practices in all areas of general urology. He specializes in minimally invasive surgery, including da Vinci robotic and laparoscopic surgery for prostate, kidney and bladder cancers, as well as the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and endourology (for the treatment of kidney stones, bladder tumors and enlarged prostates).

In his spare time, Dr. Ferroni enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, soaking up the culture of Cedar Rapids and Iowa City. He’s a passionate Philadelphia sports fan and has embraced rooting for the Hawkeyes with family and friends.
Dr. Ferroni received his medical degree (MD) from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Penn., where he was the elected president of the prestigious honor society Alpha Omega Alpha in recognition of academic excellence and leadership. Dr. Ferroni then completed his urology residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Penn., and went on to complete a fellowship in advanced robotic urologic surgery at Ohio Health Medical Center in Dublin, Ohio – a high-volume da Vinci robotics center – under one of the nation’s leading experts in robotic surgery, Dr. Ronney Abaza.
Dr. Ferroni is an active member of the American Urological Association (AUA) and has presented research and abstracts at the national AUA meetings and other international conferences. He has published his research in many leading urology journals and remains passionate about investigating new treatment options and techniques to continue to advance the field of urology.
