What You'll Do
As a Radiographer at Mercy, you will perform diagnostic imaging procedures that help physicians provide accurate and timely patient care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform high-quality diagnostic X-ray exams using fixed and portable equipment.
- Accurately document exams using imaging systems, including PACS and RIS.
- Maintain strict radiation safety and infection control standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to support patient diagnosis and treatment.
Radiographers working in the Operating Room may also:
- Provide imaging support during surgical procedures using advanced imaging equipment.
- Operate specialized technology, such as C-Arm and O-Arm imaging systems.
- Participate in a rotating call schedule to support surgical services.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Successful radiographers in this role demonstrate strong technical ability and a commitment to excellent patient care.
- Proficiency with digital radiography and portable imaging equipment
- Strong knowledge of radiographic positioning and radiation safety practices
- Ability to evaluate image quality and ensure accurate patient identification
- Strong communication skills when interacting with patients and clinical teams

What We're Looking For
We are seeking radiographers who are committed to quality imaging, teamwork and excellent patient care.
Required qualifications:
- ARRT certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- Iowa Permit to Practice Diagnostic Radiography
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – American Heart Association
- Completion of Iowa Mandatory Reporter Training (Child and Dependent Adult Abuse)
Preferred qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Radiographer
- Surgical radiography experience for OR-based roles
