Mercy Cedar Rapids is seeking registered nurses (RNs) to join our Cardiovascular Lab team, where you’ll play a critical role in caring for patients undergoing invasive cardiac procedures. This is an opportunity to work alongside experienced physicians and clinical teams in a fast-paced, highly technical setting, while building advanced skills in cardiac care, hemodynamic monitoring and procedural nursing.

What You’ll Do
- Provide direct patient care before, during and after cardiovascular procedures.
- Assist with invasive procedures, including catheter insertion, monitoring and post-procedure care.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Titrate IV medications based on patient status and hemodynamic data.
- Maintain sterile technique and ensure a safe procedural environment.
- Communicate critical patient information with physicians and care teams in real time.
- Educate patients and families throughout the care process.
- Accurately document procedures, interventions and patient responses.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support after-hours procedures.
What We’re Looking For
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (Iowa or compact state)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (or ability to obtain within six months)
- Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced environments
- Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong foundation in cardiovascular nursing and patient assessment
- Ability to monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic data
- Experience or ability to learn invasive procedural care and catheter-based interventions
- Knowledge of sterile techniques and infection prevention practices
- Skilled in medication administration, including IV titration
- Ability to prioritize care and respond quickly in emergent situations
- Strong documentation and electronic health record (EHR) skills
