Respiratory therapists here are trusted clinical partners across the ICU, Emergency Department, inpatient units, and bronchoscopy program, responding to critical situations and collaborating closely with highly respected physicians.

What You’ll Do
- Deliver bedside respiratory care according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Manage ventilator setup, airway maintenance, and monitoring for critical care patients of all ages.
- Respond to code blues, MET calls, high-risk deliveries, and C-sections across the hospital.
- Set up and monitor CPAP and BiPAP therapy.
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and analysis using I-Stat technology.
- Assist physicians with bedside bronchoscopies in a modern bronchoscopy suite.
- Perform EKGs in the Emergency Department and related documentation.
- Conduct oximetry checks and sleep studies.
- Provide patient education on respiratory therapies and equipment.
- Maintain respiratory equipment and ensure proper cleaning and function.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of respiratory anatomy, physiology and therapeutic modalities
- Ability to assess patient status quickly and respond appropriately in critical situations
- Confidence working in high-acuity environments, such as ICU and Emergency Department
- Clear communicator who collaborates effectively with physicians, nurses and care teams
- Ability to remain calm and focused during emergency situations
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development

What We’re Looking For
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Certified Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- State of Iowa Respiratory Care Practitioner License required
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 1 year of hire (except PFT staff)
- Iowa Child & Dependent Adult Mandatory Reporter Training
