Lauren joined Mercy in 2006. She graduated from Drake University with her PharmD in 2006. She has held various leadership positions in the pharmacy department and is currently the Clinical Practice Manager. She is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Iowa and coordinates IPPE and APPE student rotations. In 2014, she participated in The Pharmacy Leadership Institute through Boston University School of Management.
Jamie joined Mercy in 2013. She is a graduate of Massachusetts College of Pharmacy (BS Pharm) and the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy (MS). She completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Methodist Hospitals of Memphis. Jamie has held health-system pharmacy leadership positions for nearly 20 years in community-based and large hospitals. During her career, she has positioned pharmacists in roles to improve patient care through the expansion of services, and developed intern and technician models to support care provision through clinical and operational excellence. Jamie has been active in professional pharmacy societies throughout her career. She has served ASHP in many capacities, including: Committee on Nominations, Commission on Affiliate Relations-Chair, and the Pharmacy Practice Council. She is a past treasurer and president of the Minnesota Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Jamie currently serves as the ASHP representative to the Joint Commission Professional and Technical Advisory Committee and is a member of the Iowa Pharmacy Association Hospital Pharmacy Leadership Team. She is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy.
Andrea joined the Mercy team in 2014. She attended Iowa State University as an undergraduate, earning bachelor’s degrees in biochemistry and dietetics. She graduated from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in 2013 and completed a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in 2014. Andrea serves as the Pharmacy Operations Manager, overseeing central pharmacy functions, technicians, and technology. Andrea is also an adjust faculty member at the University of Iowa and coordinates IPPE student rotations.
Megan joined Mercy in 2013. She received a BA in biology from Grinnell College in 2008, graduated from the University of Iowa with her PharmD and MPH in 2012, and then completed a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Lawrence, KS. She has practiced in various inpatient areas while at Mercy and, in November 2016, transitioned to the Antimicrobial Stewardship/Infectious Diseases clinical pharmacist position. She is co-chair of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee at Mercy, completed the MAD-ID (Making a Difference in Infectious Diseases) Antimicrobial Stewardship Training Program, and an adjunct faculty member at the University of Iowa.
Becky rejoined Mercy Medical Center in 2009. She graduated from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in 2000. After graduation, she worked at Mercy from 2000-2001, then went to Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo as a clinical pharmacist from 2001-2009. She is a member of ASPEN and SCCM. In 2013, Becky became a Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC). She’s been a registered preceptor with the University of Iowa since 2010. She received her board certification in critical care (BCCCP) in July of 2017. She has experience in a multitude of inpatient settings, but primarily has focused on the emergency department and intensive care since she has been at Mercy.
Caitlin joined the Mercy Medical Center team in August of 2016. She graduated from University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in 2014 with a PharmD. After graduating, she completed a PGY1 residency at St. Luke’s Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa, as well as a PGY2 residency in Cardiology at University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. Her primary area of practice at Mercy is the Cardiac and Stroke Center, in which she serves as the primary preceptor. Her secondary practice area is in the Emergency Department. In addition, she is involved with ASHP and ACCP organizations.
Jennifer joined Mercy in 2010. She graduated from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in 2008 and the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business in 2014. She has work experience in both community and inpatient clinical pharmacy practice. She has served on the Iowa Pharmacy Association Legislative Advisory Committee and is a current member of ASHP. Jennifer is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy and coordinates APPE ambulatory care student rotations in the pharmacist-led anticoagulation clinic. She manages the Anticoagulation Clinic, Hall-Perrine Cancer Center Pharmacy, Hospice Pharmacy Services and the Employee Pharmacy.
Christine joined Mercy in 2003. She is a graduate of the University of Iowa (BS Pharm). Her career includes four years of managing an independent clinic pharmacy, five years of part-time retail, and 13 years of hospital practice. Since 2006, she has served as the Hospice Clinical Pharmacist for Hospice of Mercy. In 2009, she also joined the Palliative Care Team at Mercy. Christine is a member of the pain management committee.
Jillien graduated from the University of Alberta with a BSc (Pharm) and has been a hospital pharmacist for more than 27 years. She has worked in a variety of settings, including regional and teaching hospitals with specialty areas in Oncology, NICU and, most recently, ED. She is starting her 11th year at Mercy Medical Center.
Katy joined Mercy in 2016. She graduated from the University of Iowa with her PharmD and MPH in 2015. She then went on to complete a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at Gundersen Medical Center in La Crosse, WI. Her primary area of practice is Pediatrics/NICU/Birthplace and Orthopaedics, and she is the primary preceptor for the corresponding residency rotation. Other practice interests include infectious disease and parenteral nutrition.
Megan Mormann, PharmD, is a 2012 graduate of the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy, where she graduated with distinction. Upon graduation, she went on to complete a post-graduate year one (PGY1) pharmacy residency at the Northeast Iowa Medical Education Foundation in Waterloo. Megan joined Mercy in January 2014 as a clinical pharmacist and works primarily in the Mercy Anticoagulation Clinic (MAC Clinic) and the Mercy Emergency Department.
Deb joined Mercy in 2010. She graduated from the University of Iowa School of Pharmacy with a BS degree in Pharmacy in 1987. She worked in both retail and hospital pharmacy positions before beginning her oncology pharmacy position in 1995. She has worked closely with the physicians and clinical staff to implement processes that ensure patients are receiving optimal pharmaceutical care. The latest pharmacy-related project is the implementation of IVStation Onco, which is a robot that compounds chemotherapy preparations for patients.
Jennifer joined Mercy in 2015. In 2007, she received a BA in French with Chemistry minor from Harding University in Arkansas and graduated in 2012 from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences with her PharmD. Her work experience includes working as a clinical pharmacist at a non-profit hospital in northeast Arkansas, where she was involved in oncology pharmacy practice, as well as leading pilot projects in inpatient disease state management for HF and COPD patients. She has also held part-time positions in retail and infusion pharmacy before moving back to her hometown in Iowa. Her primary area of practice is Mercy’s Surgical/Oncology unit, with her secondary area at Mercy’s Hall-Perrine Cancer Center. Jennifer is a member of ASHP and has interests in oncology pharmacy, disease state management and special projects.
