Mercy’s Nurse Residency Program for new graduates is here to guide you from a new nurse graduate to a confident, competent nurse. You’ll gain hands-on skills, mentorship, and a strong support system as you launch your nursing career.

Our program combines education, mentorship, and hands-on training to support you every step of the way:
Simulations & Presentations
- Built around the Nurse Executive Center’s 36 new grad competencies
- Monthly 8-hour simulation days in the McIntyre Simulation Lab
- Four quality-measure presentations (1 per month, 4 total)
Continuous Support
- Guidance from the Nurse Residency Manager
- Mentorship from Mercy’s experienced nurse educators
Graduation Celebration
- Celebrate your growth and success at program completion
- Earn 36 education credits toward your first license renewal
How to Get Started
Mercy’s Nurse Residency program is open to:
- Nurses with less than 1 year of RN experience hired at Mercy
- New grads from accredited ADN or BSN programs
- Current Mercy employees transitioning into their first RN role
If you’re a new RN at Mercy, you’ll automatically be enrolled in the program.
There’s no separate application for the residency. Just apply for an RN job at Mercy:
