CEDAR RAPIDS-Cedar Rapids will welcome its first and currently the only physician specializing in Endocrinology, with the arrival of Arun Movva, M.D. Dr.Movva will begin practicing at Joslin Diabetes Center, located at the Mercy Health Plaza, 5264 Council St. NE, on Tues., Dec. 2.
As a specialist in Endocrinology, Dr. Movva will treat patients with uncontrolled diabetes, thyroid conditions, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, pituitary diseases, osteoporosis (bone loss), hypogonadism (low testosterone), polycystic ovary disease and other endocrine disorders.
"I am very excited to join MercyCare Endocrinology and offer my services to the Cedar Rapids area," says Dr. Movva. "The affiliation with Joslin, the world's largest diabetes research center and diabetes clinic, will help us provide the best diabetes care in the community. I am also looking forward to providing services for other complicated endocrine disorders. Working together with the patients, we can greatly improve the health of our community".
Dr. Movva was, until recently, at the Joslin Diabetes Center at State University of New York (SUNY), in Syracuse, where he completed his fellowship. His professional memberships include American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, Endocrine Society and American Medical Council.
