On Thurs., Nov. 4, beginning at 9 a.m., Mercy Medical Center, 701 10th Street SE, will host approximately 65 local high school students for Mercy Healthcare Day. Mercy Healthcare Day is a job shadow program coordinated through the Workplace Learning Connection. Students age 16 and older will have the unique opportunity to observe healthcare professionals in their work settings.
Students will experience several different job shadow areas within 23 departments at Mercy. Departments participating include Pediatrics, Radiology, Cardiac Stroke Center, Birthplace, Pathology Lab, Operating Room, Emergency and others. Students have the option of participating in morning and/or afternoon sessions.
