Mercy Medical Center welcomes Dr. Suemoy Wallace to its newly established Mercy General Surgery Clinic. Dr. Wallace will join Dr. Nora Royer in the full-time, Cedar Rapids-based clinic located in the 8th and 8th medical office building on the Mercy campus. Dr. Wallace began seeing patients Feb. 1. The Mercy General Surgery Clinic is a collaborative initiative between Mercy and UI Health Care, and is comprised of University of Iowa Department of Surgery faculty members.
Following completion of medical school, Dr. Wallace continued her internship and residency at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan. She then completed a Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Connecticut, Hartford Hospital and continued on for a second Acute Care Surgery Fellowship at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Dr. Wallace is an Associate Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and an active participant in the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
Recruitment will continue to add two more full-time general surgeons to this group that will exclusively serve Mercy Medical Center. To reach the clinic, call (319) 398-6747.
