Dementia Support with GUIDE: Free Information Session for Caregivers
The Family Caregivers Center of Mercy invites those caring for someone with dementia to a free informational session about the new GUIDE (Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience) program. The program takes place from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Mon., Nov. 10, at The Chris & Suzy DeWolf Family Innovation Center for Aging & Dementia, 9000 C Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids.
Presented in partnership with Visiting Angels and Right at Home, this session will explain how GUIDE can support family caregivers through dementia education, ongoing assistance and up to 72 hours of paid respite care.
To be eligible for theGUIDE program, the person receiving care must:
- Have a diagnosis of dementia
- Live at home or in an assisted living or memory care setting
- Be covered by traditional Medicare (Parts A & B)
- Not be enrolled in hospice or living in a care center
This free session offers valuable information for caregivers seeking education, respite and support.
