Mercy Medical Center invites the community to participate in an informative event on advance directives in observance of National Advance Directive Day.
The event takes place from 2 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16, at The Chris & Suzy DeWolf Family Innovation Center for Aging & Dementia, located at 9000 C Ave. NE in Cedar Rapids.
Advance directives are crucial legal documents that provide guidance on an individual’s healthcare preferences in the event they become unable to communicate their wishes. This event aims to educate attendees about the importance of these documents and the process of creating them.
Event Highlights:
- Presentation by Chad Proctor, ARNP, MercyCare Connections Clinic: Gain insights into advance directive documents and their significance in healthcare decision-making.
- Q&A Session: Engage with experts Chad Proctor, ARNP, and Erin Spooner, MS, MSW, CCM, Caregivers Center at Mercy. They will answer your questions about advance directives.
- Hands-On Assistance: Participants will have the opportunity to complete medical power of attorney paperwork and have it notarized on-site.
- Light Refreshments: Enjoy complimentary refreshments while you learn.
