Mercy Medical Center, community partners offer free health insurance coverage events

Mercy Medical Center and several community partners are offering two opportunities for free, walk-in assistance for individuals and families who need help enrolling in health insurance through the Marketplace. The two Health Insurance Coverage Help events are open to individuals seeking guidance on coverage options or who simply have questions about the enrollment process.

Event Details:

• Dates & Time: Sat., Nov. 22, and Sat., Dec. 13, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Location: Mercy Cedar Rapids, Hallagan Education Center (Level 1)
  Enter through the 10th Street Lobby

Assistance is free, and no appointments are necessary. Help will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis by trained professionals who can assist with Marketplace applications and renewals.

Participants are encouraged to bring the following items to ensure a smooth enrollment process:

• Photo ID
• Social Security cards or immigration paperwork for all individuals seeking coverage
• Marketplace account information (if previously enrolled), including username, password and Marketplace ID
• Proof of address
• Proof of income, such as a month of pay stubs, recent W-2, tax return or Social Security statements
• Policy number for any current health insurance plans

This event is hosted by Mercy Cedar Rapids, AmeriCorps Iowa, Eastern Iowa Health Center, Linn County Public Health and Together! Healthy Linn.
