President of Mercy Medical Center Foundation announces retirement

The Mercy Medical Center Foundation announces the upcoming retirement of its president, Lorrie Erusha. Erusha, who has been instrumental in advancing the mission of Mercy Medical Center through her five-year term, will retire in August 2025.
“Lorrie’s impact on Mercy and the Foundation has been immeasurable,” said Dr. Timothy Quinn, president and CEO of Mercy Medical Center. “Her commitment to fostering relationships, achieving fundraising milestones, and ensuring the success of important initiatives has strengthened our mission and enriched the lives of those we serve. While we will miss her leadership, we are grateful for the legacy she leaves behind.”
Erusha joined Mercy as the Foundation president in April 2020, following an extensive search. During her tenure, she influenced numerous transformative campaigns, including:
- The establishment of the Jewel & Jim Plumb Heart Center at Mercy
- The development of HallMar Village and The Chris & Suzy DeWolf Family Innovation Center for Aging & Dementia
- The renovation of the downtown Emergency Department
The Foundation has experienced remarkable growth throughout the past seven years and much of that time was under Erusha’s guidance. For example, the total number of donors has increased by 34% with an impressive 18.5% growth in the last year alone. Additionally, Erusha has helped grow the Foundation’s endowed assets to $136 million to foster, support, and encourage the mission and activities of Mercy Medical Center. Her leadership has ensured the Foundation’s ability to bring innovative concepts to life, advancing the continued delivery of The Mercy Touch®.
As her retirement nears, Erusha remains fully committed to achieving this year’s fundraising goals and continuing to serve the Mercy community with the same dedication that she has exemplified throughout her tenure.
“Serving the mission of Mercy has been a profound privilege,” Erusha said. “I am deeply honored to have worked alongside such an exceptional Foundation Board and Foundation team and to have had the opportunity to support initiatives that make a real difference in our community. I know Mercy will continue to see remarkable growth and success.”
With support from executive search firm The Overture Group, the Mercy Medical Center Foundation has formed a search committee to identify a successor and ensure a seamless transition of leadership.
