Putt for a Purpose at the Especially for You® Mini Golf Fundraiser

Gather your family and friends and get ready for a day of fun and philanthropy at Hall-Perrine Cancer Center for the Especially for You® Putt for a Purpose indoor mini golf fundraiser. This family‑friendly event brings the community together to support a powerful mission – access to breast and gynecological cancer screenings and diagnostic services for those in need.

Event Details

Date: Sat., Feb. 21
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Location: Hall-Perrine Cancer Center, Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, IA
Entry Fee: $5 per player (up to six players per tee time)

Participants of all ages can test their skills on a creative, inflatable, 18‑hole, indoor mini golf course, complete with a practice putting green and a photo booth to capture the day’s memories. Players will also have the chance to win prizes for hitting a hole‑in‑one.

Special thanks go to Dan and Jeanine Yaeger, whose dedication and creativity made this event possible by designing and building all 18 inflatable mini golf holes.

Putt for a Purpose returns for its second year following a successful inaugural event in 2025, when 172 golfers raised nearly $8,000 to support the Especially for You (EFY) Fund.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Especially for You Race Against Breast Cancer, which was founded by Mercy Medical Center and General Mills in memory of Sandy Knight, a courageous woman who lost her battle with breast cancer in 1991. Sandy was a devoted General Mills employee and a founding member of the Especially for You Support Group. Her legacy continues through the EFY Fund.

To date, the EFY Fund has helped more than 15,300 individuals access more than 44,000 screening and diagnostic services, removing financial barriers to early detection of breast and gynecological cancers. Early detection remains critical as breast cancer is most treatable when identified early, yet it continues to claim nearly 40,000 lives each year.
