NICU Amenities

It’s difficult for parents when their new baby is in the NICU. That’s why your Mercy NICU experience will be as easy and comfortable as possible, not only for you but for your entire family.
The majority of NICU babies need, in addition to medical care, a chance to bond with their families. We have made this family-centered care a priority at Mercy with 100% NICU-ready birth suites, the area’s largest. This allows you to be near your baby at all times, and the opportunity to truly be a part of his or her care with:
- 24-hour room service – you can choose what you want to eat and when
- Lots of room for visitors when baby is ready to have them
- All services come to you – from labor and delivery to newborn screenings
- Comfortable recliner with foot rest, which is great for nursing or rocking your newborn
- Plenty of space for both mom and dad to stay overnight in the NICU suite with your baby
- Free Wi-Fi
- Mini fridge
- State-of-the-art central fetal monitoring system
- Private bathroom with whirlpool tub
- Sofa
- Full-size bed
What Patients Are Saying
"NICU nurses took such good care of my little twins! All of the nurses were GREAT!!!"
As always, if your baby needs extra care after you're discharged, there is no cost for mom and dad both to stay with your baby.
All of our NICU-equipped birth suites are designed to be gentle and sensitive to your baby's needs. They feature fully equipped special-care beds, with built-in scales so babies do not need to be disturbed to be weighed. A central monitoring system is in place for constant and close observation.
Babies aren't on a 9-5 schedule, so Mercy neonatologists are always available.
We invite you to come tour the Birthplace & NICU so you can compare our NICU suites to other NICU rooms in the area. You’ll definitely notice the difference and see how your family can begin and stay together at Mercy.
