Whether you are recently diagnosed or have lived with diabetes for many years, continued education is essential to good health. The more you know about diabetes, the more effectively you can control this complex disease.

Our education services include:

  • Pre-Diabetes Program - Are you ready to take some important steps toward improving your health and preventing diabetes? Our pre-diabetes class will help you make healthy changes to reduce your risk of developing diabetes. You will learn about pre-diabetes, eating healthy and being active. Register here.
  • Living Well with Diabetes - This program is for individuals newly diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes or those who have never received diabetes education. The program includes:
    • An initial assessment to determine your individual needs
    • A one-on-one appointment with a dietician to help you understand how nutrition impacts diabetes
    • Four 2-hour diabetes self-management training classes (DSMT) that provide you with the knowledge to successfully manage your diabetes
  • Medical Nutrition Therapy - During these individual appointments with a registered dietician, you will learn how nutrition impacts your diabetes, improve your carb-counting skills and develop a meal plan.
  • Medication Instruction and Education - Individual instruction is available to help those using oral medications, insulin or other non-insulin injectable medications. You will learn how to use your medication, how it works to help your diabetes and any possible side effects. Our diabetes educators may also assist in making adjustments to your medication doses.
  • Insulin Pumps - We recommend meeting with a diabetes educator to determine whether an insulin pump is the right choice to help you manage your diabetes. If you decide to use an insulin pump, our team will continute to work with you to make sure you understand how it works and that your insulin dose is appropriate.
  • Diabetes and Pregnancy - Support, education and management are available for women with diabetes who are pregnant or have been diagnosed with gestational diabetes. You will receive important information about managing diabetes during pregnancy. We will partner with your OB-GYN and provide ongoing follow-up until your baby's delivery. For diabetic women who are planning to become pregnant, preconception education is available.
  • Pediatric Diabetes - Our pediatric diabetes program involves a diabetes specialist who helps you coordinate care for children living with Type 1 diabetes. Our team works closely your family to provide the treatment, information, support and guidance your child needs.
