Spring provides the smell of fresh air, the warmth of the sun and beautiful blooms. While spring brings renewal to your surroundings, think about how you too can renew for spring. Below are a few tips on how to spring clean your mind.
1. Be positive. Clean your mind of your negative thoughts about yourself and try to feel the sunshine within. By thinking and talking positively, you can start to be happier by not dwelling on the negative things happening in your life. If there’s something that’s making you unhappy, make a positive change. Nothing will change if you don’t try.
2. Choose a healthy habit to start. Whether you start eating a healthy breakfast, exercising or picking up that book you’ve been meaning to read, it can help alleviate the stress you feel. You can look forward to doing something you enjoy while setting up a healthy standard for your body to do regularly.
3. Do a random act of kindness. You know that feeling of pure happiness? Don’t you want others to feel that way? Do a random act of kindness weekly; you’ll feel good about helping others and will leave a lasting impression on those you helped. Whether it’s brief or long-lasting, seeing someone else’s smile is contagious.
4. Clean your home. While this one is literal, spring cleaning can help you feel organized and prepared. Instead of watching dust collect, wipe down your countertops, vacuum and sweep your floors, and organize your storage. You’ll feel accomplished and the smell of cleaning supplies makes your home smell refreshed.
