Volunteer at Hallmar
Silver Spoons
Are you a retired nurse, medical assistant, or nurse’s aide? Or, do you have an interest in healthcare or working with the elderly? If so, we’re looking for you!
Hallmar is looking for energetic, motivated volunteers who have a passion for helping others. Silver Spoons is designed to aid residents who need assistance eating during meals. Silver Spoons volunteers help feed residents who cannot feed themselves. These residents do eat well when they have more time.
Silver Spoons volunteers provide residents the opportunity to take more time to enjoy their meal, companionship and conversation. The goal of the program is to allow residents to dine with dignity as well as spend more time enjoying their meal and conversation. There’s an added medical benefit, too. Increased meal intake helps with wound healing, proper nutritional intake, patient satisfaction and overall quality of life.
Meal times are:
- 7:15 to 9:15 a.m.
- 11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
- 4:30 to 6:30 p.m
If you are interested in applying your talent or passion to this great program, please complete our volunteer application and note "Silver Spoons" in the special interests field.
