A simple, safe screening and education for long-term, heavy smokers aged 50 to 80. A patient must also be asymptomatic (no signs or symptoms of lung cancer; have a tobacco smoking history of at least 20 pack-years (an average of one pack (20 cigarettes per day) for 20 years); and be a current smoker or one who has quit smoking in the last 15 years.
