Job Shadows
Job Shadows Currently On Hold
Due to COVID-19, Mercy is currently not accepting applications for job shadows within the hospital and clinics.
Job Shadowing
Job shadowing at Mercy is for observation only. Job shadow volunteers do not provide any direct patient care or perform any volunteer duties. If you need more than 8 hours of observation, you will be considered a "regular volunteer" and need to complete all necessary requirements. Learn how to apply to volunteer.
How to Apply for a Job Shadow
- Want a taste of life at Mercy through job shadowing? Mercy offers a few types of job shadow experiences. High school students should consider participating in Kirkwood Community College’s Workplace Learning Connection, which offers a fall and spring job shadow experience. Interested students should contact your high school counseling office on how to apply.
- All others interested in job shadows not affiliated with Kirkwood or other formal programming need to complete all necessary requirements found on our apply to volunteer page.
